John Cowley Pastor
I am married to Esther and have 3 lovely daughters. I wasn’t from a religious family but became a Christian in my teens. After 7 years in local government human resources I was called to work for the church at Forest Fold and have had the privilege of serving in it since 1998. In 2008 the church asked me to be pastor, so with the other elders I try to lead the church and teach from the Bible at a lot of the services. I still attempt to play 5 aside football with those younger than me – but the reflexes are slowing up! Of the many great verses in the Bible, my favourite is ‘but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us’ – Rom 5 v8.
Mark Philpott Assistant Pastor 
I grew up in the church and have spent a good chunk of my life coming here regularly. But it wasn’t until I really looked into the death and resurrection of Jesus that I came to understand who he was, why he came and how much he loves me. Jesus came to give life and give it to the full, and it’s my passion to share this good news with others.
I have the privilege of working for the church full-time, teaching the Bible, leading the church, and heading up the youth work, as well as other bits and pieces.
When I’ve got some spare time I particularly love getting out on my mountain bike or going for a round of golf.

My main responsibilities within the church are supporting Thrive, and overseeing music. I’m married to Marilyn, and have 4 children. I work as a self employed joiner and enjoy designing and creating.
